DIY Coffee Scrub

Oftentimes, I see celebrities on their IG or twitter in their shower with coffee grounds all over them. Apparently this is the new “thing.” I decided to give it a shot and make my own. It’s super easy and there is actually a lot of nice benefits to a coffee scrub.

Of course using a body scrub is great for exfoliation, but using a coffee scrub does more than just remove dead skin cells. There’s a secret weapon in this concoction.. caffeine. The coffee grounds are loaded with caffeine, which when applied to skin can actually help tighten the skin to reduce the appearance of cellulite. You can also increase the benefits of this by applying the scrub and leaving it on the skin for 5 minutes before washing it off. Caffeine is also an antioxidant, which helps fight premature aging, so don’t be afraid to apply it to the face as well! Great for puffy eyes, the caffeine restricts blood vessels, reducing swelling and inflammation.

What you need:

(This makes one small container)

1/2 cup of brown sugar

1/2 cup of coffee grounds

2 tbs of vanilla extract

4 tbs of vitamin E oil

What to do:

Pour in one ingredient at a time, mix it well, and done!

I hope you all had a happy Holiday and are ready to bring in the new year!
